Winter Concert

JULY 2 – Put the date in your diary! “Get on Your Feet” is the theme for this year’s Winter Concert. This annual event is for all school ensembles and is getting closer. We’re doing a final check through the art work for the poster competition and you will see some of the fantastic entries displayed around the school.

Tickets will be available soon – a TryBooking link will be sent out to families via EdSmart.

There will be performances by the Concert Band, Junior Band (Year 5), Senior Choir, String Ensemble, Recorder Ensemble, Rock Band, Guitar Ensemble, Super Singers, Senior Vocal, Senior Percussion Ensemble. I will send home information about transport and requirements for rehearsal over the next couple of weeks through skoolbag. Contact me if you have any questions.

Musica Viva in Schools visited on Tuesday 4 June, presenting their fabulous percussion ensemble B’tutta. Students from R-3 and Rooms 10 and 20 attended as part of our unit on ‘How Composers use Instruments to Express Their Ideas and Stories’ with a focus on percussion instruments, composing and conducting.

String/Band Workshops

Please find attached the information regarding the DfE IM String Workshop coming up in Week 7. This should be returned ASAP to front office. This experience is open to all post basic string students.

Public Schools Music Festival

Senior Choir – Congratulations to senior choir for their well deserved A – for their assessment. A strong tonal sound with a positive ensemble feel.

Hosts – Max C successfully auditioned for a position as a host for the concert series in September. Well done Max!

Vocal Solos – Maddie C has been selected for the prestigious role of a troupe solo.

This week Zoe G, Maddie C, Ember H, Ella W and Lucy A will be auditioning for choral solos, and we wish them all the best.
