PE News Term 2, Week 2
Last term, Craig from Auskick visited our school to share some information about Auskick with the Reception and Year 1 students; some were even lucky enough to win a prize.
NAB AFL Auskick is a great way for children to be active and learn to play as a team. In weekly sessions, children explore the world of AFL, build their skills and play in a safe, fun environment.

Tae Kwon Do
We were fortunate this week to have George England from National Tae Kwon Do Adelaide who has volunteered his time to Rose Park, giving each class an introduction to Tae Kwon Do, which can help develop and improve confidence, self discipline, coordination and over all fitness level. Any student who was interested was given a voucher for two training sessions free of charge. There are over 30 different classes being conducted across Adelaide each weeknight. Contact George 0418 819 705 for any questions.
On Friday 3rd May, 44 students made up the Rose Park Cross Country team who competed at Foxfield Oval, Athelstone, running either 2km or 3km races. All students competed with determination and represented the school very well. Our team displayed risk taking skills and many personal best times were achieved. Congratulations to all involved. Many thanks to those parents who were able to help during the day also.
We had two Rose Park students compete at the Little Athletics Nationals last week in Hobart, Tasmania. Luke Simpson competed in the 200m, 400m and relay, with outstanding results in the 400m where he made the final and came 4th, a fantastic achievement, he also ran a personal best time in his heat. Daisy Braithwaite was named captain of the State Team. A wonderful achievement in leadership and communication. She came 7th in the 1500m walk and 16th in the 1500m run.
