Rube Goldberg Machines – The Year 2’s are looking at changes to an object’s motion and how this occurs using push and pull forces.  To do this, the work they are completing in class centers around the use of Rube Goldberg Machines.  Rube Goldberg is man who is famous for completing really simple tasks in the most complicated ways he could think of.  With this in mind the Year 2’s have been working on how to move a small pebble off of a table in complex and difficult ways.  With a range of materials they could use, three items link all the machines they have created, a small pebble, a toy car and a ball.
